The concept of the Trinity is a belief rooted in the testimony of both the Old and New Testaments, as well as the Christian Church. Biblical revelation attests that there is only one God, and this one God exists eternally in three distinct persons: the Father, the Son, and Holy Spirit. These truths are supported by the following Scriptures:
God the Father is the Creator and Sustainer of all things, and He fashioned the universe with love. Man was created in His own image to commune with Him, but after the rebellion and fall, God called humanity back to Himself through Christ. These truths find support in the following Scriptures:
Jesus Christ is eternally God, existing as one with the Father and the Holy Spirit from the very beginning. Through Him, all things were created. To redeem humanity, He left the glory of heaven and took on human form, being conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. As a result, He forever remains one Christ with two distinct natures—fully God and fully man—united in a single person. These biblical truths are affirmed in the following Scriptures:
The Holy Spirit, who is God and the giver of life, has been actively present throughout the Old Testament and was fully imparted to the Church on Pentecost. He empowers believers for service and witness, purifies us from our old nature, and molds us into the likeness of Christ. The experience of being baptized in the Holy Spirit, which occurs after conversion, releases the fullness of the Spirit and is evident through the manifestation of the fruits and gifts of the Holy Spirit.
